POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Youth & Family Services Manager, the Youth and Family Supervisor plans, organizes, and oversees the daily operation of HAPRA programs for school-age youth, teens, and families. This position serves as the operational lead for The Hive, youth and teen recreation and enrichment programs, family programming, school-break programs, and summer camp. The Supervisor coordinates staff, schedules, facilities, supplies, participant information, and daily program needs to ensure programs are prepared, safe, appropriately staffed, and consistently delivered. This position is scheduled for no more than 40 hours per week and has typical hours that are afternoons and evenings during the school year, daytime hours in the summertime for camp and will include some weekends throughout the year.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operation of HAPRA youth, teen, family, and summer camp programs, ensuring appropriate staffing, facilities, activities, supplies, equipment, participant information, and overall program readiness. Coordinate year-round programming for school-age youth and teens, including The Hive, recreation and enrichment opportunities, school-break programs, and experiences designed for families to participate together. Serve as the primary operational lead for HAPRA summer camp, coordinating program calendars, activities, field trips, transportation, facilities, supplies, camper information, staffing, and daily operations. Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, supervision, and development of assigned part-time, seasonal, camp, and program staff; provide clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and day-to-day problem solving. Monitor registration, enrollment, attendance, waitlists, and participation trends; maintain required program and participant records; and recommend operational or scheduling adjustments to the Youth & Family Services Manager. Coordinate program purchasing, supplies, equipment, and expenditures within approved budgets and assist with grant supported documentation, tracking, and reporting as assigned. Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for parents and caregivers, addressing routine questions, participant needs, accommodations, behavior concerns, and program issues while elevating significant matters to the Youth & Family Services Manager. Ensure programs and staff follow HAPRA policies, procedures, safety practices, licensing requirements when applicable, and established staff-to-participant expectations. Coordinate with other HAPRA departments and facilities to support shared space, staffing, equipment, communications, and other operational needs. Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Recreation, Administration, Education, or related field. Youth programming, family support or k-12 educational experience is preferred. HAPRA, at its discretion, may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience. Ability to articulate a vision about preparing youth for the future—from social, economic, cultural and personal perspectives—to partners, funders and the community Highly positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others Excellent project management and planning skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience managing budgets Ability to assess situations, problem-solve and work effectively under stress within deadlines and changes in work priorities. Ability to work at times other than normal business hours and travel to other locations. Skills in the use of office equipment and technology, including computers, Microsoft Suite applications, and related software.

The typical work environment of this job is business office, open center or off-site location setting where the noise level varies from quiet to moderately loud.
