Description
OverviewFull-time Tournament Coordinator role at Torreon Golf Club focused on creating a positive experience for members and guests while supporting and growing golf club operations.
Experience Required
- Must be a Member of the PGA of America
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate each tournament or event from initial planning stages through completion
- Advise the Director of Golf, General Manager, Head Golf Professional, and Superintendent on future events to facilitate coordination of special set-up requirements and staffing levels
- Generate a monthly calendar of events for management review
- Develop and maintain contacts including new groups, previous groups, local businesses, civic organizations, and charity groups to promote tournament venues
- Schedule and maintain tee times for members, groups, and individual play
- Maintain accurate records for all groups and tournaments
- Coordinate interdepartmental support for tournaments including golf services, golf shop, and food and beverage
- Work with customers to promote events, sell logo merchandise, and coordinate other golf services
- Prepare and distribute information about tournaments, critical dates, and course closures to members, groups, and individuals
- Assist with tournament golfer registration
- Administer tournaments in conjunction with the facility tournament manual
- Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems
- Manage department members including Group Sales Associate
- Monitor business volume forecasts and plan accordingly for manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses
- Perform other duties as required
