SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Student Services, the Student Services Social Worker provides districtwide leadership, consultation, and professional expertise in the implementation of Student Services programs that support educational access, educational stability, and student well-being. The position serves as the district's lead social work professional and provides consultation, systems coordination, program development, and direct intervention for students and families experiencing complex attendance, housing, child welfare, and educational stability challenges.
The Student Services Social Worker leads district implementation of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education and Foster Care programs, develops district procedures, provides professional learning, builds the capacity of school staff, and facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements. The position partners with schools, families, district departments, Tribal governments, and community organizations while providing direct social work services for students requiring intensive educational support.
Requirements
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
Washington State social work licensure (or eligibility consistent with district requirements).
Minimum three years of experience in school social work, child welfare, Foster Care, McKinney-Vento implementation, or related field.
Experience providing professional development, systems consultation, and interagency collaboration preferred.
