Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority is an internationally accredited full-service, all risk fire and rescue department that provides services to the citizens of Covington, Kent, Maple Valley, SeaTac, Tukwila, and Fire Districts 37 & 43. Puget Sound Fire (PSF) is hiring an experienced Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to serve as the department’s lead human performance specialist. This new role will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive firefighter wellness program. The role integrates strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and return-to-work support to enhance operational readiness, reduce injury risk, and support long-term health outcomes. The position must partner collaboratively with department administration, the Health & Safety Chief, Peer Fitness Trainers (PFTs), Safety Officers, approved physical therapy and medical providers, and labor partners to ensure firefighters are physically prepared for duty while promoting long-term health, injury reduction, and career longevity. Work Location: Your main office will be at the 84th Avenue Business Center, located at 20811 84th Ave. S. in Kent, WA. Throughout the course of your work, you will be required to travel to various stations throughout our service area.
Typical Schedule: Day shift; 8hrs/day, five days/week – but days and hours may vary as needed to ensure support for all shifts.
Union Membership: No. This is a non-represented civilian position.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field with at least five (5) years of experience supporting employer-based wellness and/or fitness programs in a fire department, military, public safety, sports performance, or occupational health setting. Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or equivalent is also required.
Certification as a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise or a related field, experience within the field of tactical athlete performance, experience with data collection and analytic and the maintenance of confidential medical records, and a strong background in nutrition with the ability to provide general nutrition education, habit-based coaching and performance focused guidance are preferred.
