Description
About the Campaign
Darden Copeland is a Democrat running for Congress in Tennessee's newly redrawn 7th Congressional District. This is a genuinely competitive race: recent polling suggests a 5-point race, and Democrats improved their margin in this district by more than 12 points in the December 2025 special election.
Position Overview
The Social Media Manager owns the campaign's voice online. A race polling within 5 points draws real attention — press, national donors, and hundreds of thousands of persuadable voters scrolling their feeds. You will create and publish content daily across platforms, grow our audiences, drive rapid response, and turn campaign moments into shareable content that moves votes and raises money.
Responsibilities
- Own the content calendar and publish daily across Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube
- Produce short-form video, graphics, and written content — shooting and editing on the trail with the candidate
- Lead digital rapid response to news events and opponent attacks
- Grow follower counts and engagement; report weekly analytics with actionable takeaways
- Coordinate with the communications team on message discipline and with the finance team on digital fundraising content
- Monitor platforms and manage community engagement, comments, and DMs
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of social media or digital content experience (campaign, advocacy, agency, or creator background)
- Demonstrated ability to make short-form video that performs; portfolio or account examples required
- Proficiency with editing and design tools (CapCut, Premiere, Canva, or similar)
- Strong news judgment and a fast, clean writing style
- Willingness to travel with the candidate across the district
Compensation & Details
