Description
SynopsisThis role reports to the Value Stream Lead. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end product development process from defining desirable, feasible, viable and sustainable products to launching and ensuring they continuously meet customers' needs. The Senior Product Manager owns the strategy, vision and roadmap for large, complex products within the value stream.
The Senior Product Manager will lead a team of Product Owners and Product Managers, supporting them in delivering value throughout the market lifecycle of the product and ensuring they are aligned with the product vision and strategy.
Accountabilities
• Responsible for working with the business to develop and communicate the strategy, vision and roadmap for large, complex and ambitious products and ensuring respective teams understands how features will be developed over time
• Work with the Solution Architect and Software Engineers to define and maintain the Non-Functional Requirements to ensure products meet quality standards
• Support the flow of work through the Kanban and into the product backlog
• Work with Product Owners to reprioritise the backlog based on business and customer needs
• Present the vision of the product during the Program Increment Planning session along with the proposed features and any upcoming milestones
• Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning meetings and sprint reviews and retrospectives
• Work with the Solution Architects to understand the scope of upcoming enabler work and to sequence the architectural runway that will host new business functionality
• Facilitate regular system demos, ensuring the most critical aspects are shown to the stakeholders
• Support in measuring product success, including adoption, customer insights and feedback. Create programs and strategies to enhance products
• Responsible for regular progress updates, managing dependencies, risks and issues, escalating to the Release Train Engineer and Value Stream Lead where required
• Monitor market updates related to new laws and regulations, new competitor product offerings, market trends, and other relevant news that may impact products
• Lead a team of Project Managers and Product Owners providing line management and performance management of the team
• Collaborate with the Value Stream Lead to define the career path for Product Managers and Product Owners, overseeing the learning and development plans for these resources
• Champion agile techniques, be a role model in these disciplines, leading by example and providing support to the Product Managers and Product Owners when required
Education & Experience
• 8+ years' experience working as a Product Manager designing and launching high quality software products. Airline industry experience is beneficial
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent is mandatory
• Certified Product Manager (CPM), Agile Certified Product Manager (ACPM) or equivalent is desirable
• Demonstrated success in defining, delivering and launching complex products
• Ability to conceptualise, manage, and prioritise multiple products
• Experience in making data-informed decisions (user testing, competitors and marketing analysis, defining metrics) and analytic tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics)
• Customer and data obsessed, always learning and refining features to deliver maximum business impact
• Experience in using design thinking tools, including personas, empathy maps, journey maps and story maps
• Customer-centric mindset with experience of placing the customer at the centre of every decision
• Deep experience in executing plans in a timely manner and strong problem-solving skills
• Deep experience with Agile development methodologies including SAFe, Scrum and Lean Portfolio Management
• Experience of working in a Scaled Agile environment, applying agile and/or scrum as a way of working to deliver technology products is essential
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Goal driven leader with ability to manage high performing teams, motivating, mobilising and coaching employees to meet high standards
