This position ensures that members and guests receive a consistently welcoming, professional, and efficient experience from the moment they arrive until the time they leave.
The Outside Services Supervisor leads the outside service staff while overseeing bag drop, golf cart staging, bag storage, practice facilities, and overall golf-service readiness. This individual must set the example for professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and attention to detail while helping Pine Forest provide a premier private-club experience.
Pine Forest is seeking a candidate who is currently a PGA Member or PGA Associate, or a career-minded individual interested in beginning the PGA pathway. This position is well suited for someone looking to develop their leadership skills, expand their knowledge of private-club golf operations, and build a long-term career in the golf industry.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily activities of the Outside Services team, including bag drop, cart staging, bag room operations, practice facilities, and member transportation.
- Review the tee sheet, tournament schedules, club events, and special member requests before each shift to ensure the operation is properly prepared.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings, assign staff responsibilities, communicate daily priorities, and adjust coverage as business levels change.
- Ensure members and guests are greeted warmly, recognized by name whenever possible, and assisted before they need to search for their golf cart, clubs, or other belongings.
- Ensure all golf carts are clean, charged, properly staged, and fully stocked with towels, tees, pencils, sand bottles, water, and current club information.
- Monitor bag storage and handling procedures to ensure golf bags, push carts, and personal belongings are organized, protected, and readily available.
- Maintain the appearance and readiness of the driving range, short-game area, practice greens, water stations, bag room, cart barn, and all other Outside Services work areas.
- Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop Outside Services employees according to Pine Forest's service standards and operating procedures.
- Provide regular feedback to employees, recognize strong performance, address policy violations, and assist with disciplinary action when necessary.
- Prepare and manage staff schedules based on tee-sheet activity, tournaments, special events, weather conditions, and anticipated business levels.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, uniform standards, cell-phone usage, and overall workplace conduct.
- Coordinate closely with the Golf Professional Staff regarding tee-time changes, special requests, cart restrictions, transportation needs, member concerns, and operational issues.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of tournaments, outings, association events, shotgun starts, and other club golf activities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member or guest concerns, taking ownership of the situation and communicating appropriate follow-up to the Golf Professional Staff.
- Enforce golf cart safety procedures and ensure employees operate carts and other club equipment responsibly.
- Inspect carts, equipment, and work areas regularly and report mechanical problems, property damage, safety hazards, or supply needs immediately.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for towels, tees, pencils, sand bottles, cleaning supplies, water, and other Outside Services materials.
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed, including cleaning and charging carts, restocking supplies, organizing work areas, securing equipment, and reporting unresolved issues.
- Promote teamwork, urgency, accountability, and a positive attitude while setting the daily example for the Outside Services team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, or other club management.
