Work Environment & Schedule:
Full-time, position primarily business development and outside sales based with a variable
day shift to include normal business hours and a standard week. Will require additional
hours to accommodate deadlines and project demands. This position is non-supervisory
and travels regularly. United States Work Authorization (required).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager and Department Lead, acts in a
business development role and as an outside sales representative to support applied
HVAC equipment sales and marketing. HVAC systems and equipment support for
consulting engineers, and maintaining knowledge of competing equipment are primary
duties. Works collaboratively as a member of the Vemco Team and in alignment with the
values of the organization.
Day to Day Activities:
- Select, price, quote, submit, order, and provide field support for applied HVAC equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of HVAC systems to be a trusted advisor for consulting engineers.
- Evaluate customers skills, needs and build productive long-lasting relationships.
Maintain existing relations with current customer base, engineers, end-users.
Proactive activity to cultivate new customers and engineers.
Attend meetings, sales events and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments,
equipment, systems available.
Maintain manufacturer relationships.
Work with other Vemco staff and customers for quotation support and Bid Day activities
for applied HVAC equipment.
Maintain and cultivate design/build opportunities.
Call on contractors to position Vemco to provide budgets during the design and preconstruction phases.
Work closely with Engineers on getting our equipment applied correctly and specified on
upcoming projects.
Be the industry leader for timely, accurate, and knowledgeable equipment application and
selection.
Identify opportunities in the early stages of the design/budget process and apply our
products accordingly.
Reach out to both “Friendly” and “Non-Friendly” contractors and engineers to promote
our products and identify opportunities and needs in the market.
“Bid Day” Activities:
Price equipment and ensure compliance with bid documents
Coordinate Scope Letters and Pre-Bid conversations with Contractors as needed
Coordinate Quotations and Post-Bid conversations with Contractors as needed
Coordinate Submittals in a timely fashion and accurately to avoid delays to the project
Order equipment in a timely fashion and accurately to avoid delays and additional costs
Coordinate the Start-Up Schedule with the FAST Department and in conjunction with
other office personnel
Work with Contractors and Engineers as questions and issues need to be addressed on
new and existing projects
Qualifications:
Solid Microsoft Office competence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Self-motivated and results driven
Ability to handle deadlines and avoid schedule conflicts
Multi-tasking skills, ability to work under pressure
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Special Position Requirements
Proven sales experience highly desirable but not necessary
Track Record of knowledge in HVAC systems and in the HVAC industry

Must have Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Compensation:
Base Salary $90,000+ DOE
