- Outreach Coordinator
Description
The Outreach Coordinator will help TreesLouisville grow awareness of our mission and lead engaging educational programming for youth and community members. This role requires a strong understanding of trees within the larger ecosystem, along with the ability to share that knowledge clearly and enthusiastically with both children and adults. The Outreach Coordinator will represent TreesLouisville at tabling events, support social media efforts, and develop and facilitate youth education opportunities. When not attending events or leading programs, this position will assist with tree planting, maintenance, and other field projects as needed.
Duties include:
- Present at speaking engagements and lead educational activities to promote our mission to the public
- Develop educational activities for student participation at school
- Lead youth volunteer activities such as planting, mulching, watering
- Maintain high level of professionalism and positively represent the organization
- Contribute to social media/newsletter and other publications
- Attend and co-lead in planting and maintenance events
- Interact with donors, the public, and board members in an appropriate manner that represents the organization well

Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Confidence in public speaking
- Ability to think creatively to develop educational and engaging programs and activities
- A basic understanding of ecology, conservation, trees, and sustainability
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and adjust to changes as needed
- Familiarity with Google Drive including Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Familiarity with Canva
- Valid driver's license
- Advocacy or community organizing experience preferred, but not required

While a personal vehicle is not required for this position, candidates must have reliable transportation to and from job headquarters (TreesLouisville office at 909 S Shelby St).
