Description
Job Summary:The Summer Music Institute Office Coordinator is responsible for organizing and processing summer staff contracts, payroll requests and Federal payroll forms. The position also tracks staff background checks, campus minors training certificates, SMI registration customer service, and staff communications.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
1. Processes SMI staff contracts and payroll requests
2. Manage staff hiring materials checklist (W-9s, supplier forms, training certificates, background checks, etc.)
3. Responds to customer service registration inquiries (works in conjunction with Extended Ed Office)
4. Assists with camp and workshop event setup and cleanup
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience processing spreadsheet data
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Music degree
• Experience working in an education environment
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Complete ‘Darkness to Light' online training course (Campus Protection for Minors)
Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:
• None
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Skill with MS Office Suite
• Ability to understand and follow existing organizational procedures and document processing
• Ability to organize and manage summer camp housing and events
• Ability to organize and track contract/payroll documents
• Ability to plan and implement events and activities

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
• Work is indoors/outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
