Job Summary
The Network Administrator (Intermediate-Level) is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and securing enterprise network infrastructure to ensure reliable and uninterrupted IT operations. The role supports mission-critical network environments, troubleshoots complex connectivity issues, manages routing and switching technologies, implements cybersecurity controls, and assists with infrastructure modernization while maintaining compliance with security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance, availability, and security to ensure continuous operations.
Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, and connectivity issues.
Configure and maintain routers, Layer 2/3 switches, wireless networks, firewalls, VPNs, and telecommunications equipment.
Implement and enforce network security policies, procedures, and standards.
Configure network access control, 802.1X authentication, and wireless networking solutions.
Support routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IPv4/IPv6, multicast, and VoIP technologies.
Maintain VPNs, IPSec tunnels, and network authentication technologies.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and systems teams on infrastructure upgrades and modernization.
Provide technical support, guidance, and training to users and administrators.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and organizational security requirements.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance.
IAT Level II Certification or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, routing, switching, and enterprise network architecture.
Experience with enterprise network security, wireless networking, VPNs, and firewalls.
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in mission-critical environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification.
Experience supporting DoD or Federal enterprise environments.
Experience with infrastructure modernization and enterprise-scale networking.
Experience creating technical documentation and network diagrams.
