POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing & Digital Media Specialist is a creative, digitally savvy storyteller who brings the Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma brand to life across platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for design and a passion for creating content—someone who loves staying on top of trends and turning ideas into impactful campaigns.
You’ll play a hands-on role in executing marketing efforts—from social media and email campaigns to website updates and design—while using data to continuously improve performance. You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and bring curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to try new ideas.
At the heart of this role is the opportunity to amplify our mission—using storytelling and digital platforms to inspire, reach, and empower more girls across Western Oklahoma.
Success in this role requires a strong understanding of social media trends and digital marketing best practices, along with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You’ll collaborate closely with the Marketing & Community Outreach Manager to connect with our community, grow our audience, and inspire the next generation of Girl Scouts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execution & Content
Execute day-to-day marketing initiatives across digital platforms with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and timeliness
Create engaging, on-brand content including graphics, short-form video, email copy, and web content
Capture and edit photos and videos at events and in the community to support storytelling efforts
Write, edit, and proofread content across platforms in a voice that is fresh, engaging, and aligned with brand standards
Social Media Management
Manage and grow social media channels, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and community engagement
Stay on top of trends and identify opportunities to create relevant, engaging content
Monitor comments, messages, and interactions to foster a positive and responsive online presence
Email Campaigns
Build, design, and deploy emails for both major audiences – membership & donors - that drive engagement and action
Segment audiences and personalize messaging where appropriate
Track performance metrics and optimize campaigns over time
Website Management
Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and strong user experience
Collaborate on landing pages and digital campaigns to support recruitment, fundraising, and program initiatives
Graphic Design
Design a wide range of digital and print materials, including social graphics, email visuals, flyers, and branded collateral
Ensure all materials align with brand guidelines and feel modern, cohesive, and visually compelling
Digital Analytics & Optimization
Track and analyze performance across social media, email, and web platforms
Use data to inform decisions, improve engagement, and optimize campaigns
Share insights and recommendations with the Marketing & Community Outreach Manager
Collaboration & Support
Collaborate with internal teams to support events, programs, recruitment, and community outreach efforts
Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed
Support marketing efforts across the organization, including occasional evening or weekend events
Community Engagement & Representation
Serve as a visible brand ambassador for GSWEST at events and in the community
Build and maintain relationships with partners, volunteers, and stakeholders
Support a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in all communications and interactions
Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field (internships included!)
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience
Experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Pass a background check and drug screen
SELECTIVE ABILITIES & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be available to work frequent weekends and evenings/nights.
Volunteer as needed for Council events
