Description
Overview- The Golf Group Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales efforts for golf centric events at TPC Sawgrass, which include premium charity outings, competitive tournaments, leisure groups, and more opportunities. This position works closely with all departments of the Club to ensure client expectations are exceeded and represents the PGA TOUR and TPC Brand.

Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, professional golf management, sports management or related field or equivalent experience.
- Thorough knowledge of general business, financial and sales procedures as would be acquired through at least four years of similar experience.
- Must have previous customer service experience, high-end property experience preferred.
- PGA Membership in good standing with an active classification is preferred but not required for consideration.
Essential Responsibilities
- Represent TPC Sawgrass professionally with all constituents, maintaining positive relationships, and reinforcing our standards and values.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with TPC Vacations, Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa, local community businesses/organizations, loyal clients, and new prospective clients. Accurately create and maintain all client records in TripleSeat (CRM).
- Develop the annual group sales budget and regularly analyze actual results against projections, working in coordination with the overall TPC Sawgrass annual operating schedule.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging opportunities to continuously refine and enhance group sales offerings, ensuring competitiveness, and innovation.
- Design and price group outing packages, including golf, food and beverage, merchandise, TOUR Performance Center, and other unique experiences.
- Manage client engagement through pre‑event site visits, client entertainment, and post-event "thank you" communication to strengthen relationships and reinforce long‑term partnerships with clients.
- Assess group objectives and requirements, partnering with the Tournament Manager and Catering/Sales team to develop tailored event details that align client expectations with operational execution; certain client requests may require review and approval by the Director of Golf and Director of Food & Beverage.
- Prepare and distribute detailed Contract Agreement outlining group requirements, fees, and financial arrangements. Clearly explain all contract terms to the client, secure required deposits, and communicate club policies and procedures.
- Calculates and ensures that event pricing, sales taxes and service charges are accurate.
- Accurately record all group details on reservation sheets and maintain comprehensive event files documenting group requirements, correspondence, and updates. Coordinate schedules and communications with the Tournament Manager and Catering/Sales Manager.
- Conduct regular follow-up with clients as required with an emphasis on cultivating relationships and partnerships.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with all club departments-including Food & Beverage, Outside Services, Golf Shop, and Agronomy-to ensure awareness of event details, special services sold, and final guarantees. Communicate any changes promptly.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of golf outing operations and address client questions throughout the sales process, including golf and catering specific questions, and pertinent information.
- Function as the day of resource to the Tournament Manager and Catering/Sales Manager, assisting with client-facing interactions, confirming contractual delivery, and facilitating effective cross‑department communication to ensure successful event outcomes.
- Partner with the Tournament Manager, Catering/Sales Manager, and key staff to oversee event execution, ensuring a seamless experience. Address concerns or complaints promptly and take corrective action as needed.
- Prepare invoices in accordance with the Contract Agreement and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
- Develop and utilize evaluation tools to assess each group's outing. Gather post-event feedback from all departments to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance future performance.
- Send post‑event "thank you" correspondence while proactively cultivating opportunities for repeat business, including future year bookings and multi‑event agreements that create long‑term value for both the client and TPC Sawgrass.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
