Foothills Park & Recreation District is seeking a passionate Teaching Professional to grow our instruction and player development programs at Meadow Golf Club. This role is designed for someone who wants to help build a strong teaching program, a loyal student base, and expand participation. This position is part-time and will average no more than 28 hours/week.
This position focuses primarily on instruction and program growth, with some pro shop coverage to support operations.
If you have ideas for clinics, leagues, junior programming, parent child events, or social golf experiences and want a platform to build and expand them, this role provides that opportunity.
Golf Instructor/Teaching Professional Job Duties ($16.50/hour + 75% of lesson fee):
*Instructor determines individual lesson rate; group lesson rate is $62.50 for a 30-minute class or $125 for a 60-minute class.
- Teach golf lessons at all levels from juniors to established players.
- Teach private and group lessons.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating lessons.
- Grow a personal lesson program serving golfers of all ages and skill levels.
- Design and implement group clinics, beginner programs, women’s programs, and specialty golf experiences.
- Develop and help manage a comprehensive junior golf program including camps and league play.
- Introduce creative programming that expands participation and attracts new golfers.
- Utilize PGA Player Development resources to structure programming.
- Maintain professional client experience from booking through follow-up.
- Serve as an advocate for junior golf at Meadows Golf Club.
- Lead junior camps, after school programming, and family golf events.
- Build relationships with local schools, youth organizations, and community partners.
- Create pathways for juniors and beginners to transition from instruction to on course play.
Golf Operations Coordinator Job Duties ($18.25/hour):
- Provide pro shop support.
- Support tee sheet operations and deliver high level customer service.
- Represent the facility professionally during operational shifts.
- Provide scheduled coverage in the golf shop averaging less than two days per week
Requirements
Required Experience
- PGA or LPGA Membership or active enrollment in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program required.
- Minimum one year of instruction experience required.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience including teaching, club fitting, and promoting with a recognized golf instructional program, school, or academy.
- Passion for junior golf and player development required.
- Ability to teach golf lessons from juniors to established players.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Experience creating and managing golf programming preferred.
- Background in junior development programs preferred.
- Familiarity with PGA Jr League, Drive Chip and Putt, or similar programs preferred.
- Experience in golf shop or tournament operations preferred.
