JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Practice Administrator provides executive-level operational, financial, and strategic leadership for ophthalmology practice operations, ensuring excellence in patient care, physician support, regulatory compliance, workforce engagement, and business performance. This role oversees all aspects of clinical and administrative operations while driving growth, operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and continuous improvement across multiple practice sites and service lines. Candidates with significant experience overseeing a clinical department, multidisciplinary practice, or comparable healthcare operation are highly valued. The Clinical Practice Administrator is responsible for leading and developing staff; fostering effective collaboration among physicians, faculty, clinical teams, and administrative personnel; and ensuring the successful execution of organizational goals related to patient care, education, and research. This position directs strategic and fiscal planning, budget development, revenue cycle optimization, operational performance, quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction programs, and technology evaluation and implementation. Key responsibilities include monitoring financial and operational outcomes; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations; overseeing vendor and contract management; supporting managed care and reimbursement strategies; developing staff training and professional development programs; and implementing effective internal controls and risk management practices. The Clinical Practice Administrator serves as a trusted advisor to physicians and leadership, providing expertise in healthcare operations, practice growth, regulatory compliance, performance benchmarking, and resource management. This position plays a critical role in advancing organizational objectives while maintaining a patient-centered culture of excellence, accountability, innovation, and service.

Education
Master’s Degree (MBA, MHA or MPH) or
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
Experience
3 years of effective leadership experience in a healthcare environment in a large and complex organization with a Master’s Degree or
5 years of effective leadership experience in a healthcare environment in a large and complex organization with Bachelor’s Degree.
