Our Finance & Accounting Department is seeking an experienced Client Account Manager to join our Seattle office. This hybrid leadership role is ideal for an accomplished billing or client accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment and is passionate about leading teams, improving processes, and delivering exceptional service.
As a Client Account Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a team of Client Account Specialists while serving as a trusted business partner to attorneys and firm leadership. You'll play an integral role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the Firm's billing processes while building strong relationships across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Client Account Specialists, providing training, mentoring, and day-to-day support.
Partner closely with attorneys and business professionals to manage client billing, collections, and account management activities.
Oversee the preparation, review, and timely distribution of client invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Firm policies and client billing guidelines.
Manage month-end billing activities, monitor work in progress, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
Collaborate with attorneys to resolve billing inquiries, implement special billing arrangements, and address complex client requirements.
Work closely with the eBilling team, Rate Analysts, and other Finance & Accounting professionals to support electronic billing, rate management, and client account maintenance.
Analyze billing activity, prepare management reports, identify trends, and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and client service.
Review client accounts to ensure matters are appropriately maintained, transferred, or closed when necessary.
Foster strong relationships with attorneys through regular in-person collaboration in the Seattle office, serving as a responsive and trusted resource.
Participate in departmental initiatives and projects that support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
Five or more years of progressive experience in billing, client accounting, collections, or financial operations, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and motivate others.
Experience working with financial management systems; knowledge of Aderant (Classic, Expert, and BillBlast) is preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships across all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external client service while driving continuous process improvement.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $111,745 - $160,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
