- Business Development Specialist
Description
The Business Development Specalist is responsible for promoting the benefits of NAMWOLF and its mission. This will involve expanding the NAMWOLF brand to major corporations and institutions through various outreach activites, facilitating meetings and presentations to introduce NAMWOLF resources, managing sponsor and member relationships, and working closely with various business partners. The Business Development Specialist will assist member law firms with introductions to corporate legal departments and play a key role in identifying Legal Service Providers as potential sponsors.
NAMWOLF is a non-profit trade associate comprised of minority and women owned law firms and other parties throughout the United States. Our mission is to promote diversity in the legal profession by fostering successful relationships among preeminent minority and women owned law firms and private/public entites.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Job Duties
Corporate Sponsors
Identify corporations and other entities interested in using member law firms to handle their matters.
Work with multiple stakeholders to follow up with potential client contacts, encourage partnership with NAMWOLF, and schedule presentations and meetings with clients, including the 30-minute NAMWOLF Primer and CLE presentation.
Follow-up with potential sponsors after presentations and provide requested materials.
Utilize Salesforce to maintain list of contacts, track sponsor responses and progress, add to list of prospective sponsors, and matain outreach schedule.
Manage the lifecycle of corporate sponsor relationships.
Publish monthly corporate sponsorship update.
Assess the probability of prospective sponsors to commit to annual sponsorships.
Outreach to existing corporate sponsors and corporate contacts, including for an annual renewal of sponsorship, invitation to events, including conferences and other support.
Outreach to dormant corporate sponsors.
Work with corporate sponsors directly to collect logos, advertisements, and other company materials for the NAMWOLF Annual Meeting.
Foster ongoing corporate sponsors by providing follow up materials and support following NAMWOLF meetings.
Work with team members to send invoices and other material to corporate sponsors.
Track accounts receivable for timely payments from sponsors.
Provide NAMWOLF credentials and information as requested to corporate sponsors for payment processing.
Other duties as assigned.
Business Partners
Identify prospective Business Partners and pitch the benefit of participation with NAMWOLF.
Outreach to member law firms for introductions to their legal service providers.
Foster ongoing relatiohsips with Business Partners by providing follow up materials and support following NAMWOLF meetings.
Utilize Salesforce to track and maintain database of existing, dormant, and potential Business Partners.
Publish monthly update for Business Partners.
Work with team members to send invoices and other materials to Business Partners.
Track accounts receivable for timely payments from Business Partners.
Work with Business Partners to collect logos, advertisements, and other company materials for the NAMWOLF Annual Meeting.
Other duties as assigned.
Relationship Promotion
Work with CEO and other stakeholders to promote relationships with other legal and trade organizaitons and Bar associations.
Requirements
High school diploma required.
Bachelor's degree preferred, OR a combination of training, education and/or experience that can be demonstrated to result in possesion of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.
5 or more years of experience in client and donor relations, non-profit experience preferred.
Experience planning presentations and events.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent time management skills; ability to plan and coordinate, work independently and proactively, and balance multiple work demands in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsft Office tools.
Experience with Salseforce CRM preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
High level of personal and professional integrity, in particular with handling confidential information.
Reliable with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
Ability to hold oneself accountable for actions, successes, and failures.
Flexible in the work environment and willing and able to adapt to changing organizational needs.
Travel Requirements: Occassional domestic travel required to NAMWOLF spring and annual meetings.
