Title: Business Development Coordinator – Dallas/Houston
The Business Development Coordinator supports the Trial Section’s Business Development Managers to develop and execute business strategy and relationships with key clients and potential clients. The Business Development Coordinator conducts and compiles research to identify new business opportunities and assists with creating pitches and proposals; tracks and reports relevant industry data and firm initiatives to identify and analyze market and industry trends and opportunities as well as cross selling opportunities with other practice groups; and works with the firm’s internal Marketing and Communications teams to coordinate events, create and distribute targeted client communications, update web content and attorney biographies, and compile annual legal directory submissions. The Business Development Coordinator, at times, works with the broader Business Development, Marketing and Communications teams.
The preferred location for this position is Dallas, Texas; however, candidates based in Houston will be considered if they demonstrate strong alignment with the role’s qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting marketing materials, pitches and requests for proposals (RFPs) for current and potential clients
- Prepare content for third party ranking submissions, including Chambers, Law360, Legal 500, World Trademark Review, IAM Patent, IP Stars and others as assigned
- Maintain and update accolades pages, attorney profiles, practice group and industry content for marketing materials
- Conduct market research and create background reports for meetings with current and potential clients
- Maintain and update matters and marketing materials in Foundation, including tracking pitch and proposal outcomes
- Assist in preparation of client alerts and newsletters
- Utilize CRM database to create and edit client profiles, marketing lists and prepare reports
- Attend planning meetings with attorneys and assist with the evaluation and execution of business development opportunities
- Support development of client trainings and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs, including formatting presentation materials and managing logistics
- Help organize and coordinate logistics for onsite and offsite firm events, webinars, seminars and conferences
- Assist with budget management and tracking
- Assist with onboarding of newly hired attorneys
- Other business development projects as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with two to four years of professional services environment or equivalent industry experience
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with lawyers and staff at all levels, and from time to time with clients and third parties
- Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
- Enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity and desire to contribute to a fast-moving team
- Commitment to collaboration, experimentation and learning both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel and flexibility to work outside standard business hours, as required to support attorneys
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
