Innovair Group is Canada’s largest independent supplier and distributor of gas products for commercial and healthcare use. We are a Winnipeg-based, privately held organization with an 80-year history of growth, innovation, and family ownership. Founded in 1946, the Group operates across industrial, health care and automation sectors, with a reputation for strong customer relationships, operational excellence and a people-first culture.

Company History

Founded in 1946 by first-generation leader Wilf Cockshott, the Group operates across industrial, health care and automation sectors. Now in its 80th year and lead by the third generation of the same family, Innovair Group is one of Canada’s largest independent manufacturers and distributors of compressed gases for industrial and healthcare applications, and a leading robotic automation integrator in Western Canada. The company operates through three primary business units: Innovair Industrial Limited (including Automation), Medigas Manitoba Limited and Innovair Medical Limited. Operations span Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwestern Ontario and broader Canadian markets through both physical locations and digital channels.

Innovair operates across three interconnected divisions. The Industrial division serves fabrication, manufacturing and industrial clients with compressed gases, welding equipment and consumables, and safety products. The Automation division is an engineered-to-order robotic integration business delivering welding and material handling automation, custom-designed robotic systems and productivity solutions across multiple industries. The Health Care division provides respiratory care and medical gases, including sleep apnea diagnostics and CPAP therapy, supply of medical gases and devices to health care providers, and online distribution through national e-commerce platforms.

Notable Accomplishments / Recognition

Winner of the Canadian Family Enterprise Award in 2014 and 2026. Winnipeg of the CPHR HR Excellence Vitality Award in 2023. Winner of the University of Manitoba Co-op Employer of the Year in 2020.
