Company Overview
The Alachua County Library District is an independent special district and the sole provider of public library services to approximately 271,000 citizens in Alachua County, serving urban and rural communities through 12 branch locations, two bookmobiles, and multiple deposit collections. Our goal is to provide all community members with free, open and equal access to education, information, and entertainment. The Library District’s mission is to build a better community by creating opportunities to participate, connect, and discover.
Located in Gainesville FL "Where Nature & Culture Meet", home of the University of Florida and Santa Fe College, and about 90 minutes from either coast, Alachua County offers something for everyone - engaging museums; live music and arts, festivals, and events throughout the year; fresh, local cuisine; award-winning craft breweries; local farmers markets; and the natural beauty of the area, including hiking, biking, birdwatching, or swimming in crystal-clear freshwater springs. With so many unique experiences that make Alachua special, there's always something new to discover.
