Description

  • Based in Wellington, with flexible working arrangements
  • Bicultural working environment
  • Positive culture with a strong focus on wellbeing

Recreation Aotearoa is the voice of Recreation in Aotearoa, representing all professionals in the industry. They empower their members to deliver the quality Recreation experiences, places and facilities, that fuel a more active, healthy, and connected Aotearoa.

You will be responsible for leading the development, discovery and exploration of Recreation Aotearoa’s bicultural brand and messaging, and ensuring it aligns with Te Whai Oranga, Recreation Aotearoa’s new strategic direction and bicultural strategy. This new strategy brings forward new opportunities for the organisation around the implementation of Kaupapa Mori. They expect to redefine their understanding of recreation so they can better support Mori outcomes in recreation and physical activities through their environment and storytelling techniques.

This is a varied role which will see you providing communication advice to the Recreation Aotearoa Senior Leadership Team and taking responsibility for a wide range of communication and marketing activities.

Just some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Highlighting Mori story telling through a variety of creative mediums
  • Developing and monitoring the use of the Recreation Aotearoa brand
  • Website management
  • Event marketing

This is your chance to be part of the ‘go-to’ organisation for professionals involved in parks, play, aquatics and outdoor recreation throughout New Zealand and one leading the way in bi-culturalism.

This is a great role in an organisation which offers genuine flexibility and work life balance, a very positive workplace culture and low staff turnover.

You will be based in their central Wellington office with flexible working arrangements. Monday and Thursday are anchor days when all staff are in the office. The remainder of the week can be worked from home or the office. You will also receive an additional two hours per week of paid leave to spend doing something that contributes to your wellbeing.
