Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and mission-driven individual to join our team in a hybrid role focused on both Business Development and Account Management for our consumer confidence report ("CCR") software serving municipal water systems with drinking water compliance. This is a remote role working East Coast hours. We are open to a six month role or a full-time role.
This is a high-impact role where you will be responsible for both driving new business growth—including prospecting and engaging new leads—and supporting existing municipal and utility clients to ensure they are fully successful and retained.
Business Development
In this part of the role, you'll take the lead in generating and closing new business opportunities. This includes handling qualified inbound leads, but also identifying and reaching out to new prospects, conducting cold outreach campaigns, initiating discovery conversations, attending trade shows and guiding potential clients through the sales process. You’ll collaborate with marketing and leadership to refine messaging, target high-value accounts, and tailor your approach to the unique challenges of the municipal water space.
Account Management
You’ll also be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of existing municipal and utility clients. In this capacity, you'll manage onboarding, support engagement and adoption, provide proactive support on regulatory compliance challenges, and ensure high client satisfaction and retention. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex drinking water regulations.
This is a strategic position ideal for someone who excels at both relationship-building and solution-selling, and who is comfortable managing multiple sales and account touchpoints in a structured, high-integrity way.
The ideal candidate is:
Confident speaking with public works officials, superintendents, utility directors, and environmental compliance professionals
Experienced in outbound prospecting, government procurement, and consultative sales
Skilled in managing both new business opportunities and long-term client relationships
Requirements
Manage municipal clients focused on drinking water compliance.
Provide content and support to clients regarding the Consumer Confidence Report and other compliance requirements.
Identify and engage new municipal clients, from outreach to close utilizing product demos, presentations and relationship selling.
Serve as the primary relationship owner post-sale, driving adoption and satisfaction.
Understand and advise clients on evolving drinking water regulations and platform capabilities.
Conduct regular check-ins, and performance reviews.
Coordinate with onboarding, support, and product teams to ensure client success.
Track renewals, mitigate churn risk, and identify expansion opportunities.
Maintain detailed records in CRM and prepare reports on account health.
