The Office of Financial Aid is seeking a Financial Aid Student Success Coordinator. This is a full-time, 1.00 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Financial Aid Student Success Coordinator is a member of the advising team with a primary responsibility to ensure there is a well-defined and well communicated process for new students who enter OSU and interact with the Office of Financial Aid. The incumbent will work across the functional areas of the office and coordinate with IT staff to build and scale solutions to common problems for the Office of Financial Aid and Enrollment Management.
Position Duties
  • Coordinate communications sent on behalf of the Office of Financial Aid with other campus partners such as Admissions, Scholarships, Student Accounts, and Academic Advising using a Customer Relationship Management tool.
  • Ensure exceptional accessibility and functionality of Office of Financial Aid webpage content.
  • Implement new communication and outreach campaigns to reach underrepresented students experiencing difficulties with the Financial Aid process.
  • Identify ways to modify processes to create equitable outcomes for underrepresented students with the Financial Aid Office.
  • Assist the management team with analysis of current interactions with various populations of students with the Financial Aid Office.
  • Conduct research and analysis with campus partners to identify ways to integrate Financial Aid programs with other offices such as Admissions, Scholarships, Student Accounts, and Academic Advising.
25% ADVISINGAdvise students, family, university personnel, and community groups in understanding the how to apply and maintain eligibility for Federal, State and Institutional Financial Aid programs.
  • Work with other university services across campus to support students.
  • Support other OSU departments and outside agencies with financial aid presentations and outreach efforts.
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret and enforce compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assists team with various reports, special assignments, and other duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to OSU’s initiative to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice of students and staff within the Financial Aid Office.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Psychology, or other field relevant to the position.
  • Two years of experience working with Financial Aid and/or Scholarship programs.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills
  • Commitment to provide exceptional student service and counsel diverse students, parents, and the community.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
  • This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions.


  • Master’s Degree is Student Service Administration, Business, or another related field.
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool like Salesforce, Slate, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar application.
  • Working knowledge of techniques for recruitment and retention of students through financial aid
  • Experience interpreting and administering of federal Title IV, state, and university financial aid in a Financial Aid Office as an advisor, or similar role.
