Remuneration: $128 169 - $137 918 per annum
About SMHRU
The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age.

About Your New Role
Are you looking for a role with real meaning and purpose? Gold Coast Health have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or SocialWorker – Senior to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others as a NDIS and Length of Stay Discharge Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high level guidance, leadership and advice for clinical and systemic escalations regarding complex length of stay matters
Deliver highlevel independent mental health expertise across assessment, intervention, reporting, documentation, and complex discharge planning
Drive service innovation and quality improvements to enhance Mental Health care for consumers with complex discharge and psychosocial needs (e.g., NDIS, legal, financial, housing, safety, advocacy)
Contribute to quality and research activities, provide specialised mental health and complex discharge training, and deliver supervision to staff and students
Qualifications
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Tertiary degree (in one of the relevant disciplines): Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work
AHPRA or Eligibility for AASW Registration
Driver Licence
Blue Card/Working with children check (Social Workers only)
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
