Job Title: Water 2050 Coordinator (Program Coordinator)
Dates: April – December 2026 with option to extend
Work Hours: 28-40/wk preferred

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is the authoritative resource on safe water, providing knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond. AWWA advances public health, safety and welfare by uniting efforts of the full spectrum of the water community.
AWWA recently launched the Water 2050 initiative to advance a sustainable and resilient water future and to tackle the most critical challenges and emerging opportunities facing the water sector. Teams, composed of volunteer experts and young professionals from within and outside the water community, are developing action plans and engaging partners to achieve our goals.
The selected candidate will manage and coordinate the activities of these volunteer experts including meeting coordination, project tracking, volunteer queries, website updates, and maintain committee documents. This candidate will work under the direction of the Water 2050 Program Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinate volunteer and staff meetings including meeting logistics
Attend meetings and manage meeting notes
Organize project work and maintain program documentation
Develop and maintain project tracking reports
Be program point of contact for inquiries
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills required:
Minimum of three (3) years’ progressively responsible experience required
Experience working with administrative support, volunteer groups, and logistics planning required
Excellent communication skills
Self-directed; able to work independently and as a member of a team and to foster a positive environment
Experience working with technical documents strongly preferred
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams required
Project management knowledge and proficiency using project planning and tracking tools such as Gantt charts
Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities with shifting time frames, and meet deadlines; high degree of initiative, urgency, and follow through
