Account Manager - Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring accounts through lifecycle to ensure that reporting and advances against collateral remain within approved formulas and line limits. Approve daily advance request, weekly or monthly collateral reviews, account verification, periodic field exams, appraisals, and financial analysis.

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Borrowers’ business model and maintain a good working relationship with their management teams and owners.
  • Monitor collateral and financial performance to determine if changes in the customer’s loan requirements or risk profile require adjustments to the loan structure.
  • Analyze monthly financials and take appropriate actions based on the results
  • React quickly to deteriorating collateral/financial trends and problem areas.
  • Ensure that all field exams and appraisals are performed and reviewed in a timely manner with appropriate recommendations.
  • Proactively manage the relationship to meet customer’s needs and avoid losses.
  • Present accounts at monthly portfolio reviews.
  • Visit Borrowers.
  • Work closely with the Underwriting Team as Borrower is on-boarded/transitioned to Portfolio ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Responsible for review of legal documentation and compliance in accordance with credit approvals.
  • Timely report deteriorating collateral/financial condition to senior management.
  • Manage account through lifecycle (on-board, account management, workout, retention, exit) to prevent losses.
  • Ensure that all monthly reports are performed in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all collateral reviews are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all credit commitments are renewed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Collateral Analyst on assigned accounts
  • Mentor Collateral Analyst and junior staff members in the organization
  • Comply with and stay abreast of all policies and procedures.

Other duties may be assigned.



  • Seasoned ABL professional with 10 years of progressive ABL experience (field exam, underwriting, portfolio management).
  • Ability to have high level, credible and consultative business conversations with Borrower, Owners, CEO’s, CFO’s and Controllers.
  • Good decision making, excellent oral communication and business writing skills.
  • Superior planning and organizing skills.
  • Working knowledge of ABL Loan Agreements and related legal documentation.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of various ABL Loan Systems.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Hybrid work environment to be discussed.
