Overview
Our client, a rapidly growing middle‑market private credit advisory platform, is seeking an entrepreneurial Vice President or Director to join its Business Development team within their organization. This is a high‑impact role within a collaborative, performance‑driven environment, offering the ability to build and deepen sponsor relationships while contributing directly to the growth trajectory of a leading advisory practice. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and expand new relationships with private equity/sponsors across the middle market.
- Engage with existing sponsor accounts to support deal flow, cultivate connectivity, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Build and execute targeted outreach strategies, including initiatives focused on underserved geographies and priority sponsor segments.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and sponsor meetings-both independently and alongside senior leadership.
- Utilize the internal CRM to track outreach activity, pipeline development, and relationship metrics.
- Maintain strong familiarity with market trends, capital markets activity, and relevant industry dynamics.
- Collaborate with internal teams to share feedback on successful outreach tactics and adjust strategies based on performance and market engagement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success originating or maintaining private equity sponsor relationships in a comparable business development or coverage role.
- Existing network of direct Sponsor relationships (required).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage credibly with senior-level sponsors.
- Ability to operate independently day-to-day while collaborating effectively with internal team members as needed.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and outreach campaigns.
- Willingness to travel extensively (2-3 weeks per month).
- Ability to provide a Deal Sheet outlining originated vs. executed deal activity.
