Oaktree's Marketing Group is seeking an individual to join its Asia team to lead and drive its business development and, fund raising activities with institutional investors in Korea with respect to Oaktree's various global investment strategies.
Scope & Responsibilities
This position demands a high degree of collaboration within the Oaktree team, as the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with the firm's current client base as well as developing additional client relationships and attracting new assets.
Sales Responsibilities:
- Fund raising US$600 million+ over a 3-year period ($100 million+ in 2025, $200 million+ in 2026 and $300 million+ in 2027);
- Map out the institutional landscapes, and devise solid business strategies for the markets;
- Manage existing relationships and develop relationships with prospective clients;
- Identify sales opportunities with existing and prospective clients;
- Lead due diligence process, facilitate legal negotiation and coordinate internal and external resources for new product launching; and
- Stay knowledgeable about Oaktree funds and current market investment environment.
Relationship Management Responsibilities:
- Build, own, and foster relationships with existing and prospective clients;
- Convey relevant Oaktree communications to clients including product/strategy updates, notice of key personnel moves, new research papers, market commentary, and/or other service offerings, relay client feedback to relevant internal parties; and
- Work with Client Services to develop and execute a service plan for each client which specifies all client deliverables including portfolio reviews and/or other client meetings or events, reporting requirements, and other service needs as identified by the client;
- Responsible for the timeliness and quality of client / prospect document submissions and account profiling data
Experience Required
- Minimum 8-10 years recognised practice in the finance industry
- Ideally includes one of the following: 1) sales / marketing background or 2) buy side experience in allocation in the alternatives and
- Familiarity with alternative investment and traditional strategies

- Fluency in written and oral English and Korean.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree
- CFA and CAIA will be considered as an advantage
