Description
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Operations, provides district-wide leadership, oversight, and technical expertise for the planning, implementation, operation, compliance, and evaluation of the District’s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Child Nutrition Programs (CNP), including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and related programs. This position exercises independent judgment and is responsible for supervising all nutrition services staff; ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and service; and ensuring effective financial management of CNP operations. The Supervisor promotes a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment, supports staff development, and models professional conduct aligned with District values.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Successful experience in school or institutional food service administration Knowledge of Washington OSPI Child Nutrition Program requirements and federal USDA CNP regulations (including NSLP, SBP, and SFSP) Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff Budget management and financial reporting experience Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, and meal tracking systems such as WINS, Skyward (Qmlativ), MealTime, or similar)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, food management, or related field Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Supervisory or management-level experience Central kitchen operations experience Training and experience with OSPI’s Washington Integrated Nutrition System (WINS)
