Apex Gymnastics and Cheerleading, located at the Simms Street Recreation Center, is seeking kind, reliable, and enthusiastic Summer Camp Supervisors to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a strong leader, positive, organized, patient, and passionate about gymnastics/cheerleading, and working with young children.
As a Summer Camp Supervisor, you will provide leadership to camp coaches, support behavior management and conflict resolution, and ensure coaches are guiding campers as intended. You’ll help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where children can build confidence, develop new skills, and deepen their love for movement. This job allows you to engage in meaningful work that aligns with your passions, create a positive impact that delivers memorable experiences, and continue to develop leadership and coaching skills.

Oversee daily camp operations, activity flow, and schedules.
Assist with setting up equipment, tidying shared spaces, and setting up decorations and the check-in/out table.
Welcome campers and guardians, answer questions, and assist with daily check-in and check-out.
Take attendance throughout the day, ensure all campers are accounted for, and supervise them when leaving the gym.
Maintain accurate incident reports, and guardian communication logs.
Support coaches with camper behavior assistance, equipment setup, spotting, and first aid as needed.
Ensure coaching aligns with safety standards, program goals. and camp expectations.
Enforce camp safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all skill levels.
Professionally communicate camp policies, schedules, and camper progress to coaches and guardians.
Job Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience coaching gymnastics/cheerleading.
Experience working with children ages 5-10.
Experience leading or supervising individuals ages 15+.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
High levels of passion, enthusiasm, and positivity.
Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the day.
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to camp.
Enthusiastic, patient, and skilled at working with both children and young adults.
Confident ensuring coaches follow expectations and procedures.
Creative problem-solvers who remain calm under pressure.
Team-oriented, dependable, and adaptable.
Able to join the team seasonally.
Education and Experience
No specific education requirements; all experience levels welcome
Work Environment
Physical Activities:
Requires extended periods of standing, bending, and moving throughout the gym.
Must be able to lift 25lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies.
Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants.
Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
Work Environment
Dusty environment including spotting athletes, lifting mats, and setting up equipment. Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.
