What You Will Do
- This person orders, receives, stocks, inventories, sells, dispenses and assigns dental restorative materials, dental supplies and equipment.
- Prepares teaching aids required for the preclinical education program and sets up prior to beginning of labs.
- Returns items to vendors as needed for repairs or replacement due to being defective or recalled.
- Purchases and assembles the rental kits to be issued to the new students each year.
- Supervises staff in various duties delegated from the list above. Pricing of kits is then delegated and sent to Admissions and Records office to be charged to each student's account.
- Budget is important and must be kept in mind at all times, if items are too high other vendors are researched. This person coordinates with faculty to review purchased item use and value on a yearly basis to reduce cost waste.
- Purchase orders are done solely by the Stores Supervisor along with figuring the selling price.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Three (3) years (36 months) of of work experience comparable to that performed at the Storekeeper III level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
-Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience in a supervisory capacity
Preferred Qualifications
-Dental Assistant Certification
-Working knowledge of dental terminology, instruments and treatment procedures.
Ability to organize and perform tasks independent of direct supervision. Requires the ability to read and interpret technical dental publications related to material and instruments used in dental procedures. Must be able to accurately perform basic mathematics, and perform tasks utilizing computers for searching the Internet for specific instrument/materials, maintaining databases, word processing and spreadsheets. The stores supervisor must be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing to maintain contact with faculty, students and external vendors. Requires a thorough knowledge of dental procedures in all disciplines of dentistry.
