Description
The Bilingual Social Services Coordinator will work with the Social Services Program Manager to provide direct supportive services and targeted referrals to clients of Common Pantry. They will also assist with home delivery program operations. This will be a full-time position paying $23/hr for 40 hours a week for an annual salary of $47,840 plus an annual health stipend of $2600. Must be available standard working hours, and once a month Saturdays and potential Wednesday evenings. Must speak fluent Spanish. Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Bilingual Social Services Coordinator are to assist the Social Services Program Manager with the Social Services Program and Home Delivery Program. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support with walk-in case management services during our four weekly food distributions.
Assist with one-on-one social services meetings with clients looking for assistance with benefits, housing, medical, legal, and any other needs.
Assist with coordination of senior home delivery programs, including making bags, calling and onboarding clients, and packing deliveries.
Be on site for 2nd Saturday morning home deliveries to support volunteer drivers.
Learn to complete SNAP and Medicaid applications with clients needing to apply for benefits.
Assist with client communication materials, including quarterly client newsletter and client flyers.
Help with special projects.
Help with operations assistance as needed, including sorting and stocking food donations, assisting with unloading delivery trucks and grocery donations, or supporting client distribution intake.
Assist with data collection initiatives and utilize client management record system to track interactions.
Ensure each client is treated with dignity and respect and help with attending to client grievances.
Maintain confidentiality of client information in all written, oral, and electronic forms.
Communicate any client issues or questions to direct supervisor if needed.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Must speak fluent Spanish.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field strongly preferred.
Work/volunteer experience in a nonprofit setting with vulnerable populations strongly preferred.
Knowledge of trauma informed care and harm reduction preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work flexibly both independently and in teams.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Strong organizational skills required.
Must be able to collaborate successfully across diverse cultural and social communities.
Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite required.
Ability to lift 20-40lbs preferred, but not required.
