- Site Supervisor (Walk WB and Rentals) (Seasonal)

Position Description Summary: The Walk WB Site Supervisor is responsible for supporting the successful operation of the walking program by attending and participating in scheduled walks while engaging with participants to create a positive and welcoming experience. This role includes taking attendance at every walk and submitting records via email or providing a physical copy. The site supervisor will observe and monitor walking trails to help ensure routes remain safe and accessible and report any concerns or recommended route changes to program manager.
The Site Supervisor for WB Parks rentals is responsible for overseeing facility rentals and ensuring a smooth experience for all guests. The site supervisor will manage set-up and tear-down of the rental space, assist guests with any needs during their rental, and ensure all parties are following WB Parks policies and procedures. This role is key to providing a safe, organized and positive experience for all facility users.
Working Hours: Typical work hours for Walk WB include scheduled walking sessions on Tuesday evenings from 5:45pm – 7:00pm (walk begins at 6:00pm) and Saturday mornings from 7:45am – 9:00am (walk begins at 8:00am) from May 5th to August 25th 2026. Typical hours will be approximately 3.5 – 4 hours weekly for Walk WB. Typical hours for rentals will have shifts scheduled during weekday evenings or weekends depending on rental bookings. Rental times will vary. This is an as needed position.

Walk West Bloomfield
- Properly take accurate participant attendance and maintain detailed records at every walk and submit via email to program manager.
- Participate in scheduled walks and must be able to walk up to four (4) miles. Walks vary in length depending on the route, but most last approximately one hour.
- Actively engage with walkers to promote a positive and enjoyable experience.
- Observe and monitor walking trails to ensure routes are safe; report recommend route changes as needed.
- Act as first responder to incidents and accidents including completion of paperwork and timely notification to direct supervisor.
- Occasionally additional time will be needed to coordinate and distribute milestone prizes, incentives, or giveaways to participants.
- Collect feedback, concerns, and suggestions from walkers and communicate them to program manager to support continuous program improvement.
Rentals
- Ensures efficient execution of private rentals.
- Collaborates with recreation and maintenance staff for setup and light clean-up (removal of trash).
- Responsible for implementing and enforcing Commission rules and policies.
- Supervises rental participants to ensure adherence of rental guidelines.
- Adhere to floor plans to set up tables and chairs per the renter’s specifications.
- Professionally responds to customer concerns.
- Ensures site left clean and tables, chairs and equipment properly broken down and stored.
- Secure private working and storage spaces during event and properly secure the building after the event.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to undertake a variety of time-sensitive tasks.
- This is a physical position that involves lifting weight up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to adapt to a variety of working conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma in progress or equivalent
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to provide excellent customer service with a friendly and open demeanor.
- Interpersonal skills to handle questions, complaints and concerns from the public and from employees in a professional manner.
- Basic knowledge of facility operations, building safety procedures, and security practices.
- Ability to maintain excellent customer service skills.

- Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative with enforcing policies, rules, and rental agreements in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ability to operate various pieces of office equipment including copier, printer and laminator.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and variable hours as assigned.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to incidents, accidents, or emergencies.
- Must be professional in appearance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and recognize and deal with priorities.
- Strong time management skills and self-starter.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision, to think independently and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to make decisions, demonstrate good judgement when investigating problems, to tactfully handle difficult situations, to seek guidance and direction as necessary.
Software, Equipment, Machinery, Tools and Vehicles Used: May use office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
Physical Demands: This position works indoors and out in the field. Must be able to work indoors and sit for long periods of time. Field time is required, therefore must be able to stand and walk for periods of time and withstand the outdoors for some periods of time, in all elements. Must be able to walk up to four (4) miles and lift 25 pounds.
Working Conditions: May be exposed to extreme heat/cold when occasional field time is required. Must be able to work in conditions that may be dirty and/or dusty.
Benefits: This position is ineligible for all benefits including participation in the 401a.
Reporting Relationships: A person in this position will report to the Recreation Programmer.
