Description
This is a hybrid position: requires 2 days in office at the corporate location in Linthicum Heights, MD.
The Senior Development Coordinator, Shared Philanthropy Services Prospect Development plays a crucial role in ensuring a robust prospect pipeline for the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) member hospitals. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Prospect Development, this position manages data entry and integrity within the CRM, assists with research profiles and portfolio updates, and supports the team in implementing prospect management processes. This position supports the Shared Philanthropy Services team by performing prospect research while using vendor tools to prospect capacity and propensity to give. The position will also assist with the coordination of the UMMS grateful patient program, ensuring a continuous stream of qualified patient referrals are strategically entered into the pipeline for gift officers. The successful candidate will have the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

Primary Responsibilities

- Proactively identify and qualify individuals, corporations, and foundations to ensure a robust pipeline for all UMMS development teams.
- Execute comprehensive research using subscription-based research tools (e.g., iWave, Windfall, Wealth Engine) and publicly available information to determine financial capacity, philanthropic interests, and relationships.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Grateful Patient Program, including the screening, prioritization, and assignment of qualified patient referrals.
- Input, maintain, and update prospect data, research results, and activity within the Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT database to ensure data accuracy and support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate wealth screening results and research findings to prepare concise, high-quality prospect briefing documents and strategic profiles for gift officers.
- Coordinate with gift officers to manage prospect assignments, ensuring effective movement of prospects through the cultivation cycle toward solicitation.
- Generate queries, exports, and reports to support accurate prospect and proposal data.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Education & Experience - Required
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of three (3) years of experience working in advancement operations, prospect research and/or nonprofit operations.
Education & Experience - Preferred
- Familiarity with a donor database or constituent relationship management system.
- Experience prospect research/wealth screening vendor tools.
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT or similar CRM.
- Understanding of ethical guidelines in both prospect research (APRA) and patient privacy (HIPAA), and the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Compensation
Pay Range: $60,000 - $83,928
