Description
Position OverviewThe Research Project Coordinator will implement a professional development (PD) intervention, the Transition Coalition Self-Study Plus (TCSS+), that is part of a federal research project. The intervention is being refined, tested and evaluated as part of this funded project with another university. The person in this position will support multiple building teams across the country through the 12-week PD intervention, problem-solve, and encourage completion by email, website, and Zoom meetings. This position will also collaborate with the research team to discuss and refine the PD model, contribute to adjustments to it and provide input on some project elements. Finally, this position will train other staff to implement the intervention.
This is an 8 hour per week position.
Job Description
(70%) Guide and support school district or building level teams of practitioners through the 12-week professional development intervention using a specific process and materials, as well as an online platform.
- Onboard teams and provide orientation to facilitators.
- Facilitate weekly training and support sessions with district or school-based teams to support fidelity to the 12-week intervention framework.
- Use established protocols, instructional materials, and online tools to guide teams through each phase of the professional development cycle.
- Monitor team progress, troubleshoot implementation challenges, and provide targeted feedback to ensure successful adoption of practices.
- Document support activities and outcomes in the project's online platform or tracking system.
- Deliver training sessions for staff who will serve as facilitators or coaches for district teams.
- Model effective team support strategies, use of intervention materials, and navigation of the online platform.
- Provide follow-up support, feedback, and resources to ensure staff are prepared to implement the intervention with fidelity.
- Review intervention materials, curriculum, and implementation tools to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with project leadership to propose revisions based on participant feedback, implementation successes/challenges, and data derived during implementation.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of updated materials, processes, or guidance documents.
- Assist project leadership with tasks such as data analysis, resource preparation, or coordination of project activities.
- Provide guidance to staff involved in related project components to ensure alignment with overall project goals.
- Collaborate across project teams to promote consistent practices and smooth implementation.
- Perform additional responsibilities aligned with project needs, such as participating in project meetings, supporting reporting activities, or assisting with training events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education and one year of experience in a field of study.
- Two (2) years' experience providing transition planning students with disabilities in schools.
- Two (2) years' experience providing training to education professionals.
- Three (3) years' experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Zoom, Google Suite, and customized web applications to provide training; collect, record, organize and manipulate training data; and report/present about training process and results.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of organization skills as evidenced by application materials and work history.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have advanced knowledge, analytical skills and professional competencies necessary to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is commonly recognized as the standard qualification for similar roles in the public and private sector, ensuring that the university remains competitive with industry aligned practices, enhances collaboration with external partners, and supports the delivery of services and programs that meet professional and market-driven expectations.
