Job Summary
The Department of Health Promotion is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Evening Supervisor for the Wellness House. In this role, you will provide guidance to peer health educators while ensuring the health, safety, and smooth operation of the wellness rooms.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee the health and safety of wellness rooms and assist peer health educators.
- Guide students to the check-in area and wellness spaces.
- Clearly explain the general rules and expectations for the wellness rooms.
- Manage risk during evacuations, incidents, and accidents.
- Address participant questions and concerns regarding the Wellness Rooms.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance participants' experience.
- Engage with students regarding their time spent in the rooms, ensuring fair access for all.
- Handle conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Communicate with direct supervisor any issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Follow the End of Day Closing Checklist at the end of each day on duty.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in public health, community health, healthcare administration, or related field
Required
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Customer service and leadership experience in a health and wellness facility or a closely related space, such as a hospital, doctor or dental office, gym or fitness area
- Experience working in a health and wellness space and guiding participants who utilize that space with information and resources of the Health Promotion Department and others on the Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) campus
Required
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the resources and services of the Health Promotion Department and other wellness opportunities at Indiana University Bloomington
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Advertised Salary
$14.00 per hour
Work Hours
4:30pm - 8:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.
Potential for more hours available in the future.
