Description
Position Summary
Atlantic Radiology is seeking a PACS Administrator to support and optimize our radiology imaging
systems environment. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance,
troubleshooting, and performance of PACS, RIS, and related radiology IT systems. The position works
closely with radiologists, technologists, operations, and IT to ensure stable system performance, efficient
clinical workflow, and reliable integration across platforms.
This is a radiology-specific systems role. Candidates should have direct PACS, RIS, and imaging workflow
experience. General IT infrastructure experience alone is not sufficient for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PACS, RIS, and related radiology IT systems
- Support system interfaces and integrations with other healthcare IT platforms
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and drive timely resolution to minimize workflow disruption
- Partner with radiologists, technologists, and operational leaders to support imaging workflow efficiency
and end-user needs - Provide user support, issue resolution, and training related to radiology systems and workflows
- Coordinate and support software updates, upgrades, testing, and ongoing system optimization
- Assist with system reliability, access, security, and compliance within the imaging IT environment
- Work with internal IT teams and external vendors to troubleshoot technical issues and support
implementations - Participate in after-hours and call support rotation as needed
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Direct experience supporting PACS, RIS, and radiology imaging systems in a healthcare environment
- Strong working knowledge of radiology workflow, imaging systems support, and clinical end-user needs
- Experience in troubleshooting system issues, supporting upgrades, and maintaining stable production
performance - Familiarity with healthcare IT integrations, including radiology-related interface and workflow
considerations - Working knowledge of networking, system administration, and data security principles in a healthcare
setting - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage technical issues in a fast-paced
clinical environment - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with radiologists, technologists, operations, vendors, and IT teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise imaging platforms and integrated radiology systems environments
- Background in radiology, medical imaging, or imaging informatics
- Experience with DICOM, HL7, and related healthcare interoperability standards
- Relevant certifications in imaging informatics, healthcare IT, or system administration
Additional Notes
- Savannah-based role with a minimum of three days per week on site
- Vendor-side imaging IT candidates with relevant PACS / RIS experience are encouraged to apply
