Do you love telling stories that inspire action and bring people together? The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a creative, strategic, and detail-oriented Marketing & Digital Content Coordinator to help elevate our visibility and connect our community to the experiences we offer.
In this role, you’ll blend creativity with strategy, capturing moments, creating compelling digital content, and using data-driven insights to expand our reach and engagement.
What You’ll Do
As our Marketing & Digital Content Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our programs, events, and services connect with residents. You will:
- Develop and implement annual marketing plans and campaigns to increase participation and awareness
- Create and manage digital content across social media, website, and email platforms
- Produce engaging multimedia content including photos, videos, graphics, and written content
- Capture and coordinate live event coverage through photography and video
- Oversee website and social platforms to ensure content is current, accessible, and aligned with goals
- Coordinate media relations, news releases, and public information efforts
- Collaborate across teams to align marketing with department goals and initiatives
- Track performance, analyze engagement metrics, and optimize campaigns using data and best practices
- Support sponsorships, fundraising efforts, and community outreach initiatives

About You
You’re a creative storyteller and strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment. You’re just as comfortable behind a camera or designing content as you are analyzing performance metrics and planning campaigns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Three (3) years of professional marketing and/or digital content experience (or equivalent combination)
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Experience creating digital content across multiple platforms (social, web, video, etc.)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
- Experience with social media tools, content management systems, and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License

Pay & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $25.99–$33.20, depending on experience
- 10% employer retirement contribution—well above industry average
- Up to 4 weeks vacation, 12 sick days, 11 holidays, and 3 personal days annually
