What You Will Do
- This position primarily supports IT function in the Grad School, performing installations, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of Graduate Studies and Research systems.
- In addition, this position will also work within the ITS team to allow for cross training with other university systems.
- Graduate system examples include Kuali Research, Kuali Build, Access Databases, API integrations, and Power Automate flows. Under general supervision, assess the needs of users and assist in the selection, implementation, and modification of a system.
- Document existing and needed workflows.
- Document system configuration and changes.
- Work with IT help desk and other IT personnel to troubleshoot incidents.
- Handle service tickets requesting changes.
- Troubleshoot and maintain system hardware.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Any one or any combination totaling 5 years (60 months) from the following categories:
- College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT Systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Work experience in IT-related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field, which includes supervisory or lead worker capacity.
- College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT Systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

a) Additional 4 years of progressive experience managing computers, or software packages in a complex IT environment.
b) 3 years of experience (concurrent with other experience) with programming / scripting languages (ex: SQL, Java-script, HTML/CSS, jQuery, Python, Perl, Power-Shell, C#, etc.)
c) 2 years of experience (concurrent with other experience) creating and maintaining workflows (Power Automate, Kuali Build, etc.)
d) 2 years of experience (concurrent with other experience) creating and maintaining forms (Microsoft Forms, Kuali Build, Qualtrics, etc.)
e) 1 year of experience (concurrent with other experience) creating/maintaining reports (Power BI, Access, SQL Reports, etc.)
f) Working knowledge of computer operating systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows, and/or MacOS) and peripherals in a networked environment.
g) Experience with the implementation, support, and integration of software/systems.
h) Ability to handle and resolve ticket-based requests and incidents without direction, while continuing progress on independent projects.
i) Ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
j) Ability to act as lead administrator on systems and assign tasks.
k) Ability to mentor others as needed in the series
l) Working knowledge of AI is preferred (Copilot, Chat GPT, etc.)
