Description
Investment Sales SupportAre you keen to embark on an exciting journey to learn and grow? We are looking for someone to join our Investment sales team to oversee all aspects of a proposal lifecycle from RFPs (Request for Proposal) to presentation/pitch decks - to supporting our relationships with key intermediaries. If you're eager to develop new skills, we want to hear from you!
The investment sales team oversees investment sales activities across Aon's investment business. We collaborate with portfolio managers, operations teams, client consultants, actuaries, insurance specialists among others to ensure that we showcase the best of Aon to the industry.
What the day will look like
The role will encompass all sales channels within the investment team, including advisory and fiduciary services, as well as providing assistance in emerging areas such as insurance and responsible investment. This role provides the opportunity to:
- Learn about Aon's diverse client base and the latest investment ideas
- Collaborate with senior colleagues across investment - particularly on large and/or high‑profile opportunities
- Develop a strong understanding of specialist areas such as asset allocation, delegated operations, manager selection, risk management and endgame solutions
- Build investment capability by supporting consultants in shaping and articulating portfolio ideas, strategy options and risk trade‑offs for clients
- Develop persuasive writing, data analysis and presentation skills through hands‑on involvement in RFPs and pitch materials
- Support and, over time, help coordinate events for third‑party stakeholders, as well as attend industry events and networking sessions to build external relationships
Over time, this role will provide opportunity for development in many areas across the investment team at Aon.
How this opportunity is different
You will be actively involved in live sales processes, gaining early exposure to drafting RFP responses and pitch materials that shape real client decisions. The role offers regular interaction with senior stakeholders, including hands‑on involvement in pitch rehearsals, helping you build confidence, networks and presentation skills. You will also gain insight into how investment ideas are developed, tested and positioned for clients. These skills are highly transferable across consulting, portfolio management and wider investment roles within Aon.
With a robust and growing sales pipeline, we are seeking someone to play a central role in overseeing investment sales opportunities, managing stakeholders across the business, crafting high‑quality content, and translating data into clear, impactful charts and insights.
Responsibilities that will lead to success
Working within a busy, focused and collaborative team, your key tasks will include:
- Collaborating with all the teams within the investment team (including lead consultants, portfolio management, risk, legal, ODD, manager research, asset allocation, middle office, reporting etc) to obtain accurate information and compelling case studies
- Preparing first drafts of Executive Summaries
- Coordinating content from the bid team for standard RFP responses
- Preparing tailored answers to key questions under the direction of lead advisors/consultants.
- Helping to prepare due diligence questionnaires for intermediaries such as Third Party Evaluators (TPEs)
- Articulating the key points for a bid in a clear and concise manner to ensure consistency of messaging and emphasise competitive advantages
- Preparing the first draft of slides for a client pitch
- Coordinating pitch rehearsals and providing feedback to the pitch teams
- Working on ad hoc projects to further our success in sales
- Working towards IMC or CFA qualification or willingness to pursue with study support
Skills Required:
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and persuasive content.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confident user of PowerPoint and Excel (e.g. creating charts, summarising data).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with numbers and client materials.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at different levels.
