Description
The Anatomical Education Program was founded in 1903 and supports the mission of Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine by providing whole body donors to medical and allied health students at all 9 campuses of Indiana University, as well as partner schools and institutions across the Hoosier state.Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Draws donor serology
- Assists the mortuary services coordinator in the donor preparation area as needed
- Requires the ability to perform processes/procedures for assigned work with no instruction
- Requires the ability to readily learn and apply new information/concepts
- Exercises judgement and makes decisions in accordance with policy, procedures, techniques, and processes
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the shipping/receiving area, which include shipping, receiving, logging, storing, and delivering packages, equipment, and mail at the facility
- Monitors the asset lifecycle and coordinates directly with constituents to ensure appropriate disposition of equipment
- Provides reporting to management on the status of assets campus-wide and ensures the accuracy and integrity of data
- Inputs delivery information into department's receiving tracking software and scans and attaches packing slips to purchase orders
- Receives, tags, stores, retires, scans for the annual physical inventory, and delivers department-related capital assets
- Provides process improvement suggestions for the department
- Tracks equipment loan and return documentation and ensures it is completed in a timely manner and within department guidelines
- Keeps the storage room clean and in good working order

- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate. It involves remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time as well as moving around the work environment. The position requires moving and assembling objects and placing objects on high and low shelving units and storage racks. The role requires the ability to detect details of objects and the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
