Head Of Sales - BTL / Development Finance Based London City (Hybrid) Up to £90,000 + bonus + benefitsOur client is an ambitious SME London bank with a strong balance sheet and sensible lending appetite. We are seeking an experienced real estate finance professional to take a pivotal role in originating and managing high-quality UK property lending relationships within particularly the buy-to-let and development finance market.. This is a commercially focused position for someone who knows the buy-to-let and development finance market, can build trusted broker and investor relationships, and can turn strong opportunities into completed deals.
The opportunity
You will be responsible for sourcing and structuring property debt opportunities, with a strong emphasis on buy-to-let lending, development finance, and broader real estate credit relationships. The role sits at the centre of a growing portfolio and offers the chance to work across professional landlords, SPVs, LLPs, brokers, developers, and property investors. This is a hands-on relationship role, combining origination, credit assessment, deal structuring, and stakeholder management. You will work closely with credit risk, compliance, legal, branch teams, valuers, solicitors, and brokers to drive transactions from initial conversation through to disbursement.
What you'll do
- Originate new real estate lending opportunities through your own network and wider market outreach.
- Build and manage a pipeline of professional landlords, SPVs, LLPs, and property investment clients.
- Assess borrower requirements and propose suitable lending solutions aligned to policy.
- Prepare term sheets, negotiate commercial terms, and support deal execution.
- Carry out initial screening on rental yield, LTV, DSCR, affordability, and asset quality.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth onboarding and fast conversion of leads.
- 8+ years' experience in finance, credit origination, or credit sales.
- Strong understanding of the UK buy-to-let market, including rental stress tests, ICR, portfolio landlord rules, and property valuation processes.
- Proven ability to originate and grow high-value credit relationships.
- Good knowledge of FCA and PRA frameworks, with a strong compliance mindset.
- Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
