JOB GOAL:
The Fiscal Supervisor is responsible for providing support to the Director of Finance and Operations in all areas of budgeting and fiscal operations; to manage and update chart of accounts for revenues, expenditures and balance sheet items; to prepare month-end and year-end closing journal entries and reconcile monthly reports from the county treasurer’s office; to serve as the district’s grant administrator and process monthly OSPI grant claims; to monitor procurement compliance; to assist State Auditor during annual audits; to assist in the preparation of the annual budget and year-end report; to supervise, direct and provide guidance for fiscal staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field (preferred) OR an Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting/Business; AND a minimum of three (3) or more years’ recent experience in budget, accounting, payroll, or related work, preferably in a public school district setting. Experience beyond the three (3) year requirement that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability may substitute for all or part of the degree requirement at the District’s discretion.
We are seeking a candidate with a great attitude, excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of school district accounting principles, reconciliations, record keeping, internal control systems and state and federal requirements. Skills in preparing financial statements and reports. Skills in the use of office software programs and automated database accounting systems, preferably WSIPC, Skyward or Qmlativ software programs. Strong analytical and high-level mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to set priorities, work with minimal supervision, and work under pressure of timelines. Commitment to communicating effectively and inclusively in multicultural settings.
EMPLOYMENT
TERMS:
8.0 hrs/day; Monday-Friday, 260 day, exempt position. Salary Range: $109,444 - $128,758. Medical, dental and other insurance benefits available from district-approved plans based on SEBB requirements. Federal/State criminal background clearance (fingerprinting) and all other mandated clearances. When hiring and promoting personnel, consideration is given to experience and performance in developing effective parent, family and community partnerships.
PHYSICAL &
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands include light lifting (10-20 lbs.), prolonged periods of sitting, hearing, speaking, visual concentration, and use of hands. Moderate strength and agility required for position. Mental demands include problem solving, communication with staff and the public, detailed work, multiple concurrent tasks and accountability for accuracy.
