Location: Albany, NY Category: Research Foundation Careers Posted On: Wed Apr 1 2026 Job Description:This position supports externally-funded workforce development initiatives at the University at Albany Department of Nanoscale Science & Engineering (DNSE) and the Albany Nanotech Complex (e.g. Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics and Nanotechnology (CENN), AIM Photonics, Department of Defense Microelectronic Commons, (NORDTECH) etc.) to coordinate comprehensive and effective education and workforce outreach activities, focused on K-12 students.
This position will interface with regional and national educational and workforce organizations and support partnerships to promote education and workforce development relevant to SUNY, UAlbany, and NYS priorities. This position is part of a larger workforce development program which will require coordination with the SWIFT Gateway Director and others.
Description of Duties:
- Collaborate with externally funded workforce development programs and partners to execute effective outreach activities and programming for education and industry partners, including experiential learning programs, K-16 outreach, apprenticeships, and internships.
- Coordinate with K-12 schools to provide on-site tours, educational activities, and outreach visits to regional K-12 schools, college fairs, and other regional events to promote awareness of STEM fields and the semiconductor industry.
- Support partnerships and initiatives that promote education and workforce development, with an emphasis on increasing diversity and participation among groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM careers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of externally funded education and workforce development programs.
- Track, document, and report metrics related to outreach initiatives and program outcomes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field in support of STEM-based workforce engagement from a college or
university accredited by the US Department of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting
organization. - Experience identifying and initiating partnerships with diverse industry and academic
partners. - Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability
to work with diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media outlets.
Additional Information:
Salary Range : $52,000- $57,000 (annual)
