Description
General Information:
Coordinates programs, training, and consultation related to Health Services. Responsible for appropriate intervention, management, and/or referral of all students, including students with chronic health problems and/or special needs. Upholds professional standards and State and Federal laws pertaining to health care and District policies.

Salary:
$60,200.00 per year - commensurate with experience. 2026-2027 school year compensation to be determined.

Qualifications:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
Current CPR certification.
Bachelor's degree.
Ability to meet Arizona State Board of Nursing requirements for certification as a school nurse preferred.
Two years of nursing experience in the field of clinical nursing or school nursing desired.
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops and implements a comprehensive health services program which address the needs of students, establishes objectives and priorities, delegates appropriate responsibilities to staff, develops strategies to achieve objectives and evaluates programs.
- Assesses and evaluates the health and development status of students in order to make a nursing diagnosis and establish priority for action.
Interprets the health and development status of students and communicates the information to the students, parents, and school staff. - Advises students, parents, and school staff on plans of action for eliminating, minimizing or adjusting to health problems that interfere with students' effective learning.
- Recommends modifications in the educational program when indicated by the health or developmental status of the students.
Provides case management for chronically ill, medically challenged children in the school setting. - Assists in the development and implementation of standards and procedures related to health services.
- Assists in the screening, interviewing, hiring and training of health offices staff.
- Organizes, leads, and supervises health staff members.
- Provides input to the school principals regarding performance reviews of health office staff.
- Provides direction, consultation, and supervision of health service plans and programs including adherence to all applicable state, county, federal and
- District school health policies and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of the community's social service agencies.
- Ability to operate various office machines and computers and general clerical skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Ability to deal effectively with matters of confidentiality.
- Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
- Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
- Skills in time management.
- Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Excel and Word.
