DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
The Role
BVH Architecture is seeking a strategic marketing leader to guide BVH’s brand, communications, and business development strategy across Colorado and Nebraska. This is a deeply collaborative leadership position focused on driving operational excellence to achieve alignment and measurable growth.
Far from a standard proposal-focused role, we are searching for a leader who will step into our collaborative, creative studio that champions empathetic leadership and a “winning together” culture. In this role, you will truly partner with our principals and market sector leaders, blending your strategic insight, creativity, and technical savvy to rally teams around a shared direction and elevate our market presence.
Leadership Impact
The Director of Marketing plays a central role in shaping BVH’s next phase of growth. You will help define how the firm shows up in the marketplace, positioning our expertise, strengthening brand leadership, and pursuing the projects that shape our future.
Working closely with firm and sector leaders, you will bring discernment to opportunities, foster strong internal partnerships around key pursuits, and empower success through clear processes, cohesive messaging, and deep collaboration. Your guidance will elevate BVH’s brand and translate design excellence into meaningful relational and market impact, while building the supportive teams and reliable marketing foundation that lead to long-term success.
Strategic Leadership
Serves as a trusted advisor and operational partner to firm leadership on marketing, communications, positioning, and growth.
Provide market intelligence to inform decision-making
Shape sector priorities, client development strategies, and growth initiatives
Partner with leadership to cultivate revenue marketing, thought leadership, and content strategy

Key Responsibilities
Firmwide Leadership
Lead marketing and business development operations
Build consensus with market sector teams to align marketing with growth priorities
Thoughtfully evaluate markets, opportunities, and positions
Pursuit Strategy
Guide pursuits, proposals, and interviews
Improve pursuit outcomes through stronger positioning and alignment
Strengthen BVH’s value proposition across markets
Team Leadership & Enablement
Mentor, lead, and develop the marketing team
Build reliable systems, tools, and processes for high performance
Act as a bridge to strengthen collaboration with technical staff
Brand & Market Presence
Ensure excellence and consistency across all materials
Coordinate conferences, awards, and partnerships
Sustainably expand national visibility and PR presence
Marketing Operations
Develop annual plan and budget in collaboration with firm leadership
Monitor market trends and client insights to inform growth
Strengthen internal communication, awareness, and trust

Ideal Candidate
A strategic marketing leader who connects ideas, people, and opportunities, translating strategy into measurable results.
10–15+ years of marketing & business development experience (AEC/design preferred)
Strong strategic thinking, operational excellence and market awareness
Ability to bring people together and build alignment across leadership and staff
Excellent communication, active listening, and relationship-building skills
Passion for design, storytelling, and supportive collaboration

Experience leading marketing in an AEC/design firm
Proven success improving pursuit outcomes, creating structured processes and team coaching
