RMC is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain enterprise databases that support mission-critical operations. This role will ensure database performance, availability, and security for both on-premises and cloud-based environments, while also contributing technical expertise to support User Activity Monitoring (UAM) solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes to support performance, availability, and security goals.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Administer database security, user access, and role assignments.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and resource usage.
- Troubleshoot and tune databases, including query optimization and index management.
- Implement and maintain change control, testing, and documentation for database updates.
- Support application developers in leveraging database technologies effectively.
- Plan and execute data migrations and conversions.
- Maintain database documentation, standards, and metadata dictionaries.
- Provide technical support for database-related incidents and on-call coverage.
- Oversee UAM solution operations to meet performance and reliability objectives.
- Research emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- 35 years of database administration experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience managing both on-premises and cloud-based database environments.
- Expertise in database backup, recovery, security, and disaster recovery processes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS RDS sustainment.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong SQL and database scripting skills.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- Active Secret clearance, with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including OCONUS travel.
- Compliance with DoD 8570/8140 IAT-II certification requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or AWS Certified Database Specialty.
- Experience with cloud-based database services such as Azure SQL Database.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with data warehousing and BI solutions.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and data governance requirements.
