Description
Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools (WRPS) has an opening for a full-time Coordinator, Human Resources. This position works out of the Division Office and reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a wide range of human resource programs and services, including sick leave administration, Extended Disability Benefits (EDB), Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims, employee benefits and pension processes, while providing administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. The Coordinator maintains in-depth knowledge of the ATA Collective Agreement and Support Staff Terms of Employment to ensure their consistent and accurate application across all employee groups.
This position plays a key role in supporting division staffing processes, onboarding new employees, maintaining accurate personnel records, managing employee leaves, and overseeing the HR Atrieve system. The Coordinator, Human Resources, works collaboratively with school administrators, division departments, and external partners to ensure effective, efficient, and confidential human resource operations.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
- CPHR designation or willingness to complete HR-related coursework
- Relevant Human Resources experience
- Experience working within a public school system (asset)
- Knowledge of collective agreements, terms of employment, and relevant legislation
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, and personnel file management
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, PowerSchool Atrieve, and other HR-related systems
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice
