About the Role
The Remote/Hybrid Contract Administrator I supports the Contracts Department by performing a variety of contract administration and purchasing functions under the supervision of the VP of Contracts. This position is remote with a few meetings a month in person at our Norfolk, VA location. This position assists in the preparation, review, and management of federal government contracts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all stages of the contract lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of federal contracting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to support ongoing contract performance and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Contracts department with contract administration functions and duties relating to various types of federal government contracts, including Multiple Award Contracts, IDIQ Contracts, Blanket Purchase Agreements, and Single Award Contracts.
- Assist Contracts department with preparing contractual documents, including representations and certifications required to support proposal submissions and awards.
- Review contract awards and amendments for compliance using contract templates and advise the VP of Contracts of acceptability or any items of risk prior to execution.
- Review bids for quality assurance and compliance with contractual requirements, as required by contract.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing records, including contractual documentation, relevant contract communication, and compliance tracking.
- Work with the Sales Team to ensure contractual compliance by monitoring and confirming that requirements have been met.
- Research minor contract issues, as needed, using the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) to determine the appropriate resolution.
- Process and manage all purchasing activities and vendor coordination for assigned contracts, ensuring timely and compliant acquisition of materials and services.
- Work in a cross-functional capacity with other company departments in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
- 1-5 years of experience in a government contracting environment
- BA or BS degree preferred but not required
- Experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills to solve problems and mitigate risks
