Internship Summary
Ava is seeking to hire a part-time Content Marketing Intern to join our Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Brand Marketing Associate. This role is ideal for enthusiastic and organized students, recent graduates, and professionals seeking experience in clean energy, sustainability, content production, and marketing. As an intern, you will assist the Creative and Content team with content distribution across our marketing channels and produce content that promotes brand engagement and clean energy education. Interns will also work on a relevant, short, independent project, receive mentorship, and gain work experience in a local government environment.
This internship runs from May 2026 through August 2026 (with some flexibility on the term).
Internship Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide operational and production support on social media campaign ideas and brand storytelling
- Assist with content distribution across marketing channels
- Write social media captions following Ava's editorial guidelines and incorporating feedback and recommendations
- Support with written content development across website, email marketing, and other platforms as needed
- Assist in performance reporting
- Maintain resources in our shared knowledge base
- Propose, develop, and execute a small, independent project within the Intern's professional interest that benefits Ava's marketing team. Example projects will be provided
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrated interest in marketing, media studies, content production, communications, environmental studies, or other relevant field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Content production experience (note that generative AI use is heavily discouraged and often prohibited)
- Ability to self-direct once given initial guidance, follow through on tasks, and keep supervisor informed of progress, challenges, and needed support
- Basic knowledge of and enthusiasm for clean energy and climate action
- Knowledge of and interest in social media trends
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Video editing experience a plus
- Comfort in front of a camera a plus

Stipend
The position is compensated at $30 per hour for 24 hours per week (roughly 3 days).
Location and Working Conditions
This position will be based in Ava headquarters in Oakland, near BART. Ava's team has a hybrid approach inclusive of in-office and remote work. This role is expected to go into the office Tuesdays and Thursdays and the first Wednesday of every month.

Licenses/Certificates
Possession and continued maintenance of a valid class C California driver's license or the ability to provide alternate transportation and a safe driving record.
